The MET Office has issued a yellow warning of strong winds between 21:00 on Wed 18 Nov 2020 and 03:00 on Thu 19 Nov 2020. 

This weather warning is in place for County Antrim and County Down. Strong winds are expected overnight which may lead to some disruption. It is likely that some places may see gusts of 60 to 70 mph for a time. This may coincide with high tides leading to a greater potential for coastal impacts.

What to expect

  • It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
