Who we are

We are the Strategic Housing Authority for Northern Ireland and a landlord at scale.

The Housing Executive is a non-departmental public body, established by the Housing Executive Act (NI) 1971 (since superseded by the Housing (Northern Ireland) Order 1981). The Housing Executive consists of a 10 member board, (link to members) including Chair and vice-Chair and is supported by a Chief Executive and Executive Team.

We are an organisation of housing professionals, committed to fairness and to making a difference for our customers.

Vision

Our vision is clear. Everyone, irrespective of their background or means, should be able to live in an affordable, sustainable and decent home that is appropriate to their needs, in a safe, attractive, and climate-resilient place.

This vision drives us in everything we do, and is underpinned by our values and behaviours. As professionals, we solve problems through housing; whether this is reducing inequality or mitigating the effects of climate change.
