As Northern Ireland Apprenticeship Week 2026 gets underway, the Housing Executive is highlighting the wide range of career opportunities available through its apprenticeship and graduate programmes.

Sophie Irwin, Head of Learning and Organisational Development, said:

“Our trade and graduate apprenticeships are paid roles that combine on the job experience with formal study and a recognised qualification that progresses them for a specific career.

"Peer support and learning support are consistently provided to ensure success – It’s a great opportunity for people who would like to try something new, continue their learning journey or possibly change careers.

“These programmes offer hands on learning, professional development and financial stability.”

She continued:

“Each year we welcome apprentices and graduates across many parts of our organisation, helping people build strong foundations for a career in social housing.

"Over the past year, we have welcomed 30 apprentices and 56 graduate trainees, all of whom are already making a hugely positive contribution to the services we deliver for our tenants.

“We value the fresh ideas, energy and diverse perspectives that apprentices and graduates bring. Investing in emerging talent is essential to developing a skilled workforce and strengthening the services we provide now and into the future.

“There are apprenticeship opportunities open for applications right now, and we will be offering even more apprenticeship and graduate roles in the months ahead. We encourage people of all ages, backgrounds and genders to consider joining us.

“Working with us means developing valuable skills while contributing to essential public services across Northern Ireland.”
