Energy Efficiency Grants
Affordable Warmth Scheme
You must apply to the Housing Executive for the Affordable Warmth Scheme.
Contact the NI Energy Advice Service (NIEAS) for more information and advice.
The NIEAS is managed by the Housing Executive and funded by the Department for Communities (DfC).
Our Energy Officers will help you to decide if you are eligible for help through the scheme.
You can apply if:
1. You meet the ‘gross’ total household income of under £23,000 and you are in need of energy measures, and
2. You are a resident of Northern Ireland and you:
- own and occupy your property as your main home, or
- rent from a private sector landlord.
You must not start any work until you receive confirmation, in writing, that you have qualified for grant aid.
We will not pay for any work started or finished in your home before you receive written permission for it.
Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme
The Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) fund is collected from all local electricity customers.
The Energy Saving Trust manages the NISEP Programme. The scheme benefits domestic and commercial customers. The total NISEP funding available for both years is £16m (£8m per year).
NISEP funding benefits households through energy efficiency schemes.
You could be eligible for upgrades if you meet the essential criteria and your total income is under £38,000.
The energy efficiency schemes include:
