We carry out housing research on a wide range of topics. This housing research is vital in helping us to meet our objectives. We have a statutory responsibility to regularly examine housing conditions and need, and we may conduct or promote research into any matter relating to any of our functions.

We mainly research housing conditions and housing need, but we also research strategic issues relating to the wider housing market (including the owner occupied and private rented sectors) and the level of customer service we offer.

Technical Research
The Quality Improvement section of the Housing Executive also has a role in supporting technical research and innovation in relation to local housing standards and energy.
The section can often help researchers and higher level students maximise the impacts of their research projects.
